Bodyworks 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training

This program is an amazing opportunity to study in-depth the practice of yoga, whether you are interested in becoming a teacher or are a dedicated students interested in deepening your understanding.

Yoga Teacher Training is not about learning how to do a bunch of crazy complicated yoga postures with grace. It’s about getting to the root of who you are, what you want in your life, and how to get there.  As Rolf Gates says, “Yoga is when you bring your values and your actions into alignment.”

Each week, you will look forward to this time that you have dedicated to yourself for your own growth and self-care.

Some of the key topics we will cover:

  • An Introduction to Vinyasa Yoga: What is it and where did it come from?
  • Principles of Alignment: Learn the basic building blocks of alignment and how to apply them to every pose.
  • Yoga Philosophy: Dissect the rich history of yoga and learn the ten basic principles, non-violence, truthfulness, non stealing, non excess, nonpossessivness, purity, contentment, self-discipline, self-study and surrender. Infuse these principles into your life and watch daily life transform.
  • Meditation and Breath: Why are these so important in yoga?
  • Yoga Anatomy & Physiology: Not the sometimes boring anatomy taught in university courses, but rather practical, valuable information about what’s happening in the yoga postures on a physical level, and energetic level.
  • Transformational Teaching Skills: Uncover your voice! Almost everyone has a fear of teaching. You’ll overcome this fear once you have knowledge, a plan, and practice.
  • Principles of Sequencing: Get a look behind the scenes! There is an art to designing an effective yoga class. You’ll master this.
  • Personal Mentorship and guidance from Natasha Walters and Stacy Rans: Before you graduate, you will teach a Community Class to the audience of your choice. You’ll be coached throughout this process by your Lead Trainers.
  • Ignite Your Home Practice: Get on your mat every single day, even if it’s just for 5 minutes. Learn to lead yourself.

Upon completion of teacher training you will be qualified to register with the Yoga Alliance at the 200 Hour Level as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200). You’ll also receive priority consideration for employment as a Bodyworks Yoga Teacher.

What people are saying about the training…

Erin Hallett

Bodyworks Instructor

I was terrified (tears rolling down my face, lose all of my words, frozen in place kind of scared) about teaching. While I worked to find my courage, my personal practice deepened, and I learned a lot about living my yoga off the mat. Now I have a Thursday class I can’t wait to get back to this week. I may still have butterflies, but I’m confident in my ability to share yoga with others.

Founder of ″Flow With Faith″

This journey is such a beautiful process about finding your voice, finding your passion, and finding your peace. Love my experience and I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

Tina Miser

Founder of Joyful Yoga

Best decision I’ve made. I learned so much about the history of yoga, the practice of yoga, and myself.

Erik Henderson-Vigil

Bodyworks Instructor

Even at the last minute, I kept thinking maybe I shouldn’t do this… I am so grateful that I joined the teacher training program…. Every penny I spent, was absolutely worth it… I learned how to calm my emotions… I learned how to deal with my depression without medication… It makes my heart smile… I made friends that will last a lifetime… I feel like I am more apt at being able to take care of others after I learned to take care of myself.

Dora Allen

Bodyworks Instructor

For me, participating in the course was to reaffirm that my practice of Yoga is my healing.  The frequency of practicing teaching brought us the confidence and courage to do it in public. Today I understand that it was part of a process to be able to transmit to our audience, what practicing yoga can do in our lives.

Brenda Hadley

Founder of Peaceful Yoga

I didn’t think I would actually teach yoga but about 3 months after completing my training I had people contacting me, asking me to hold classes. Of course the first couple of times I was nervous but only until the class started and then it just flowed. I had numerous people coming to me after, thanking me, stating they loved it , it was just want they needed etc…I knew then I was on the right path.
